Updated Mass Guidelines

Dear Old Cathedral Parishioners and Visitors:

Archbishop Rozanski has communicated to pastors that beginning on Thursday, July 1, 2021, the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation has been lifted.  Please note, parishioners who are sick, homebound, immunocompromised, and gravely concerned for their health retain the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass, which has always been the case in normal times. 
Catholics in the Archdiocese of Saint Louis should continue to be mindful of the requirements recommended by health officials.

Here are some additional important updates:

• Following updated CDC guidance from May 2021, the Archiocesan mask mandate now only applies to all parish faithful who have not received a vaccination. Masks are optional for those who are fully vaccintaed. 
• The side pews will remain at socially distanced for those individuals who are not vaccinated or choose to keep a six-foot distance.
•  The distribution of the Chalice of the Precious Blood during Holy Communion remains prohibited due to direction from the USCCB until futher notice. 
• A non-contact sign of peace is still recommended (head bow, wave, but no handshakes) amongst the congregation.
• Hand sanitizer will continue to be availbel for your use. 
• Pews will be sanitized on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. 
• Missalettes will be stored in the pews beginning with th enext seasonal edition on August 1. 
• Holy Water will be returned to the fonts. Please use at your discretion. 

The Old Cathedral is open from 6:45 AM to 2:00 PM on Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM to 6:30 PM on Saturday, and from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM on Sunday.
